Services at Chabad of Concord began at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday as usual, but that changed quickly, the rabbi said Sunday morning.
At 8:49 a.m., an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 struck Concord, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Rabbi Berel Kesselman said while he and his congregation felt the shaking, Chabad of Concord sustained no damage and there were no injuries.
Reports to law enforcement were similar, a Concord police lieutenant said.
"No damage and no injuries have been reported so far," Concord police Lt. Shasta Vanetti said at 10:13 a.m.
Vanetti was at the police station at 1350 Galindo St. and felt the shaking, she said.
"Officers in the field advised that they also felt shaking," Vanetti noted.
No shaking was felt and there were no damages or injuries at the Metro by T-Mobile store on Monument Boulevard, said a woman named Vanessa who answered the phone at the store.
After the quake struck, services continued as usual at Chabad of Concord on Andrea Court, Kesselman said.
