Two San Mateo County restaurants were cited last week for failing to correct major health violations in a timely manner.
Both the Clam House at 33 25th Avenue in San Mateo and Pizza Hut at 600 Whipple in Redwood City were investigated by the San Mateo County Environmental Health Staff.
The Clam House was cited for having potentially hazardous food thawed in an unsafe, unapproved manner. Health inspectors also noted that soda dispensers are not being cleaned and sanitized in an approved manner.
The Pizza Hut was cited for the improper storage of disposal of liquid waste.
County officials returned to the Pizza Hut March 24 and the Clam House March 24 for a follow up inspection. Neither establishment had corrected their violations.
