Chunli Zhao appears for his arraignment at San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City.
A jury trial for the Half Moon Bay farmworker accused of killing seven in a mass shooting has been set for Jan. 25, 2027, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
A motion to dismiss the charges has also been set for April 30 of this year, Wagstaffe said.
Chunli Zhao allegedly murdered seven farmworkers and injured one more in a Jan. 23, 2023, mass shooting at two separate mushroom farms on the San Mateo County coast. Officials have described the incident as a workplace-motivated shooting over the suspect’s perceived mistreatment.
Zhao previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.
