Police Chief Ryan Johansen announced last week he is leaving the city of San Bruno in early 2025 as he accepted the same position for the town of Apex, North Carolina.

Johansen has served San Bruno for nearly two decades, the last five as police chief. Johansen began as a police officer with San Bruno in 2006.
