A 57-year-old Redwood City man has been charged with murder for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in an act of domestic violence Dec. 8, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Juan Garcia, allegedly stabbed his wife, Odilia Bohrsicajau, 33, in the neck, face and chest after she had decided to leave him, the DA’s Office said.
Bohrsicajau leaves behind six children, all of whom live in Guatemala.
According to the DA’s Office, the pair’s relationship had deteriorated, with Garcia suspecting her of cheating on him and Bohrsicajau with no desire to stay with him. Regardless, Garcia attempted to woo her on the evening of the murder, according to the DA’s Office, allegedly becoming enraged when he was rebuffed and killing her.
Garcia then allegedly changed out of his bloodied clothes and turned himself in, Wagstaffe said.
He is being held without bail and a plea will be entered Dec. 18.
