A San Francisco man accused of trying to rent a vehicle at San Francisco International Airport with fake identification and credit cards last month pleaded not guilty Friday to 11 felonies.
James Everett Gracey, 32, is charged with a number of crimes stemming from the alleged fraud and, on Friday, did not waive his right to a speedy trial. He returns to court Jan. 24 for a pretrial conference followed by jury trial Feb. 18.
Officers at the SFO airport bureau arrested Gracey Nov. 24 after responding to calls a man was trying to rent a car with suspicious cards. Police reported finding him in possession of the fake credit and debit cards and methamphetamine. Officers also determined he had two outstanding felony warrants in the system totaling $40,000 for burglary and identity theft. After his arrest, police identified six more victims of identity theft.
