Kyle Harrison was pronounced deceased at the correctional facility. Sheriff’s Office personnel and medical staff attempted to administer lifesaving measures, according to a press release from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, but were unsuccessful.
Harrison showed no signs of obvious external trauma in the beginning stages of an investigation into his death, San Mateo County Coroner Robert Foucrault said. A full report will take about four to six weeks to complete.
“We’re at the beginning stages of the investigation,” he said. “We’re going to release everything at one time, so there is no confusion or misinformation.”
Aside from the Coroner’s Office investigation, the Sheriff’s Office and the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office are also looking into Harrison’s death. It’s the sixth death in the county jail since 2023.
Findings from the DA’s Office will require the Coroner’s Office conclusion, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

“The number one thing we have to have is the coroner’s conclusion,” Wagstaffe said. “When you don’t have something like bruises, bumps, injury, knife wound … you need that.”
Morales, a minor at the time of the crime, was found responsible for two counts of vehicular manslaughter — against the objections of the DA, who charged him with two counts of second-degree murder — and sentenced to 90 days of electronic home monitoring. He was released into the custody of his parents in January.
Harrison pleaded no contest to two counts of vehicular manslaughter for his role in the killings and because he was tried as an adult, was sentenced to eight years in prison. He spoke at the sentencing with genuine remorse, Wagstaffe said.
“He was completely remorseful. He got up and spoke both to Judge Lee and to the family of the victims. He was very sincere,” Wagstaffe said. “As sentencings go — it was for a homicide case — it was as moving as one could hope for.”

tragic ending, feel bad for his parents. Who in their 20's didn't do a little car racing...could happen to anyone with a kid.
