A Foster City karate instructor was arrested Tuesday for child molestation after police discovered him in a car with a 13-year-old student.
Responding to a call from a concerned resident, San Carlos police responded to a suspicious car parked in the 900 block of McCue Avenue at 6:50 p.m. Monday. The caller reported seeing someone putting sheets over the interior of the car’s windows. Police believed they were responding to a transient who was planning to spend the evening sleeping in the car. When officers arrived on scene, they found Brendyn Crispell, 20, in the car with a 13-year-old girl.
He admitted to performing a sexual act on the girl and officers found two stuffed animals and a jar of Vasoline inside the car, according to police.
He was arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail for lewd acts with a child under 14 and oral copulation with a person under 18 . His bail was set at $100,000.
A search warrant was served on Crispell’s Foster City residence on Tuesday. A computer was seized and police are in the process of analyzing it for evidence, said Cmdr. Rich Cinfio.

Police do not know yet if there are more victims, Cinfio said.
"With anything like this we invest fully with an open mind. There can be other victims, we’re not sure,” Cinfio said.
Crispell told police he knew the girl for four years and the two met at the karate studio.
