The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion robbery in San Carlos early Friday morning and is asking the community to review any security footage they may have that could help the case.
At about 2 a.m. Jan. 9, deputies were sent to a report of a robbery at a home on the 1400 block of Greenwood Avenue in San Carlos.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect entered the home by force, pointed what appeared to be a gun at the occupant, demanded money and valuables, then fled on a bicycle. The victim was not injured.
The suspect is described as a man in a black face mask, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants.
The Sheriff’s Office used drone and K-9 units to try to find the suspect but was unsuccessful. Investigators continue to collect statements and collect evidence and will have an enhanced presence in the neighborhood as they work the case, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Residents who live near Greenwood Avenue are asked to review any home security footage taken after 12:01 a.m. Friday for images of a person riding a bicycle. Footage can be uploaded to the Sheriff’s Office’s secure evidence portal at https://sanmateocountyso.evidence.com/axon/community-request/public/2600219.
