CA State Parks Lifetime Achievement Award
Sam Herzberg received the CA State Parks Lifetime Achievement Award April 15, nominated by Bay Area Trail Collaborative and Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. He served 26 years as the County’s Senior Planner, totaling 35 years of service to San Mateo County Parks. When he started working with the San Mateo County Parks Department, there were 14 parks and 150 miles of trails. When he retired, there were 24 parks and 190 miles of trails.
