The San Mateo County Community College District Board of Trustees finalized with a 3-2 vote its switch to by-district elections at a recent meeting. The decision Wednesday, Oct. 11, defines communities where trustees must live to serve on the board, representing a switch from the current at-large system which awards seats according to the highest vote getters in general elections. In other business at the meeting, the board approved the sale of KCSM-TV to a Santa Rosa public broadcaster for $12 million.
