The Redwood City Fire Department reported Sunday that a fire caused $36,000 in damage Saturday night to the garage unit of a condominium complex before firefighters could extinguish it
Firefighters arrived at Hastings Shores Condominium Complex, located in the Redwood Shores area of the city, at 11:38 p.m. to find the center unit of a 5-car garage engulfed in flames. Immediately after arriving the roof collapsed, but firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.
Household items and one car inside the unit sustained most of the damage, the department says, but neighboring units also suffered some smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.<
