NAPA, Calif. - Investigators believe that two women found stabbed to death this week were targeted in the attack, but no suspects have been identified, authorities said Friday.
Adriane Michelle Insogna and Leslie Ann Mazzara, both 26 years old, died from multiple stab wounds after they were assaulted in the upstairs bedroom of their Napa home early Monday morning, according to the Napa Police Department.
Detectives do not believe the murders at 2 p.m. Monday resulted from a random act of violence. They are working with other law enforcement agencies to identify a motive and the suspect, who may have received cuts and scratches from the confrontation, police said.
Mazzara, a former South Carolina beauty queen who moved to California six months ago, worked in the sales division of the Niebaum-Coppola Winery in Rutherford. Insogna worked as a sanitation engineer in Napa County, where she handled sewer applications from contractors and developers.
