As the investigation into the Taser death of Chinedu Okobi by five San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies nears its conclusion, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said Wednesday that he is working on a technological solution to make all relevant video publicly available on the internet.

Wagstaffe said he is committed to releasing an edited arrangement of video from three sources: deputies’ dash camera video, bystander video and surveillance video from a nearby business.

For Mr. Wagstaffe to release an "an edited arrangement of video from three sources" is unacceptable and runs counter to the request put out by Chinedu Okobi's own family, which is that the public be allowed to see the videos in the unaltered manner that they themselves were allowed to view the video. An edited arrangement is Orwellian language that translates to "an editor's cut that paints the Sheriff's Department in the best light." Absolutely unacceptable from the DA and we as San Mateo County residents need to demand better.
