State Sen. Josh Becker, D-Menlo Park, announced a major fundraising initiative to unite Silicon Valley’s tech leaders and entrepreneurs to support victims of the devastating Palisades Fire.

Becker is mobilizing the region’s influential tech community to contribute to recovery efforts to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund.

Not So Common

I would suggest that no one give any donations of any kind. These people are living in one of the most high rent districts in the entire world. Let them reap what they sow , they voted for the government that decided to protect the Delta smelt over providing water and they chose NOT to clear dead brush. Let them pay for their own mistakes and poor decisions , if we provide tough love , perhaps they will learn that you are not rewarded for making bad decisions.

And while LA is burning that loser Joe Biden had the nerve to "celebrate" becoming a grandfather in front of all the victims of the fire. Typical disgusting behavior from the worst president to ever live. I pray for the people of LA - this is Maui 2.0 If anybody in California votes liberal again - they simply have no brain.

I would contribute to a fund to recall the totally useless, incompetent mayor and fire chief. DEI at its best and why all of these programs should be scrapped post haste.

Dirk, don’t forget Governor Newsom and all the liberal environmental democrats who decided protecting the Delta smelt was more important than providing water to humans

As with all charities, investigate their effectiveness and their salary structure, along with their working capital to see whether they deserve your hard-earned money. Chances are at least $million or more are being spent on executive salaries in this charity. I’d recommend folks find a better alternative where the majority of their money goes to help the folks that need it the most. I wonder how much Becker contributed to the Fund.

As a side note, let’s hope these fires show why some Democrats and our Democrat governor deserve their future political aspirations to go up in smoke. Remember, thanks to Dems, 80% of our water flows out to sea and not into reservoirs or fire hydrants, unfortunately for those affected. Didn’t Los Angeles recently defund firefighters to the tune of $20 million? Didn’t Los Angeles fire hundreds of firefighters because they wouldn’t take the Covid clot shot? BTW, if you or you know someone who was fired because they didn’t take a Covid shot, do some research and explore filing suit against your employers. Cases winding through the courts have ruled in favor of plaintiffs.
