SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS: ROALD DAHL’S “CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY” HOLDS A BIT OF DELICIOUS FOR EVERYONE, AT THE SHN GOLDEN GATE THEATRE. Willy Wonka, world famous inventor of the Everlasting Gobstopper, has made an astonishing announcement. His marvelous — and mysterious — factory is opening its gates … to a lucky few. That includes Charlie Bucket, whose bland life is about to burst with color and confection beyond his wildest dreams. He and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a mesmerizing joyride through a world of pure imagination, Oompa-Loompas, incredible inventions, the great glass elevator and more. Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” includes songs from the original film (“Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket)” and continual explosions of high energy dance. Delightfully fast-paced and darkly comic. Recommended for ages 6 and up. No children under 5 allowed. Directed by Jack O’Brien. Book by David Greig.
