Editor,

Years ago, living on Surfbird Isle, when the goose invasion was just starting, some of us tried to get the Foster City Council to take bold actions before it got out of hand ... which it has. Replace the playing field grass (costs money), put up beach fences (geese can fly), with open gates, I watched them just walk from the water to the grass, leaving a sloppy slurry of poop in their wake.

Hey Rod, you miss the point. The goose issue is keeping some consultants alive and is a discussion topic that keeps the current crop of supervisors firmly in their seats. What else is there to do in FC? Clearly, they are not interested in getting rid of these pests.

Thanks for a great solution to an ongoing problem, Mr. Stewart. The option of eating the geese has been proposed for years, ever since the goose invasion started. However, Foster City’s so-called officials have chosen to waste tons of money (are they in the $millions?) to keep talking about the problem and doing nothing of consequence. I’m surprised Foster City residents continue to vote in these so-called leaders but they get the government they deserve. And apparently a government that prioritizes the rights of geese over their residents. Let’s hope there’s a goose-fest in our near future. Although, as it is now, I wonder whether the train-to-nowhere will be completed before the goose invasion issue is solved. Some betting platform must have odds…
