Editor,

Regarding the March 27 column “High schools should adopt ‘bell-to-bell’ cellphone ban,” by Jon Mays. While your column was very explanatory, and I appreciated the lists of reasons for the ban, I have to disagree with your perspective. I believe the usage of phones during school, specifically during the break times, is important for the safety of the students.

OK Colleen - I have a solution for you and your screen addicted peers. Let's go back to pagers. Those devices can send out the emergency signals that you can't seem to live without. I wonder how my generation made it without all of the superfluous electronics.
