IRVING, Texas (AP) — Crowded around a workshop table, four girls at de Zavala Middle School puzzled over a Lego machine they had built. As they flashed a purple card in front of a light sensor, nothing happened.

The teacher at the Dallas-area school had emphasized that in the building process, there is no such thing as mistakes. Only iterations. So the girls dug back into the box of blocks and pulled out an orange card. They held it over the sensor and the machine kicked into motion.

So per the AP, the gender gap has widened but what is this gap? What are the higher average math scores? Are there any numbers or is the AP making a mountain out of a molehill because the gap in math scores isn’t statistically significant? And instead of focusing on math, how about the other traditional “two R’s,” reading and writing? Are there also gender gaps? We know everyone is not equal and contrary to what AP normally pushes, there are differences between the sexes. Perhaps math or reading or writing has inherent differences. Similar to athletic competitions… The bigger surprise to me is that the AP isn’t finding a way to segue into blaming Trump. Perhaps there’s a gender gap in authors at AP who don’t have TDS?
