In the July 31 issue of the Daily Journal, the front page headline said, “Economy grows at surprising pace.” But, the front page headline of the Aug. 2-3 issue of the Daily Journal said, “Employers slash hiring,” with the sub headline saying, “Trade policies paralyze businesses, raise doubts about economic outlook.”
In between those dates, the U.S. agency responsible for the labor statistics released its latest monthly figures of new job hires, and it was a very low number. The agency also revised downward their previous statistics for the two previous months.
All of this looks bad for America’s economy under Trump. So, what does Trump do, he fires the employee who reported the labor statistics, because she made him look bad.
Now, Trump is replacing that statistician with a person of his own choosing, and we all know what will happen to those labor statistics in the future.

Trump will inflate those statistics to make himself look good, yet, the investors in the stock market who rely on those statistics to make sound financial investment decisions, will all suffer when Trump’s statistics don’t add up.
Then, of course, Trump will blame Obama and Biden.
No surprise at all, that Trump managed to mess up the promising economy that President Biden handed him. Same with the booming economy that Trump was handed by President Obama the previous time Trump took an office way over his head. Now, finally, more and more Republicans seem to understand how totally incompetent Trump is, - not to mention how selfish he is, scooping it all up for himself and his family.
I seem to recall that during Biden's last year, his numbers were inflated and they were adjusted downward from 300,000 plus to a little over 80,000. I think that the agency reporting these statistics are just playing political games, and are directed by the political party in charge of the WH to manipulate the financial markets. I have not believed any government data since my university years and remember very well what an economics professor said: "there are lies, darn lies and statistics." I believed neither Biden, nor Obama and now I question Trump in this matter as well.
I just searched on the internet to find out if what you said is true about the Biden's new job statistics revised downward, and there is nothing that says that is true, except one site budget.house.gov, which is the Republican House Committee site. That tells everyone that the claim is not true. Just thought you might want to know that. Otherwise, thank you for your response to my LTE.
Hilarious. Hey Mike O., if you choose to selectively toss out the site budget.house.gov report because you feel it’s biased, we can follow your logic and toss out all the sites you subscribe to because they’re biased against our (yes, our) great President Trump and Republicans. BTW, aren’t you the Mike O. who doesn’t believe the US Constitution protects individual liberties when everyone under the sun can quickly and easily do a simple search for “does the constitution protect individual liberties.” Yep, protects individual liberties. Or do you think the Constitution’s claims are not true? Just asking, otherwise thank you for your response to Mr. van Ulden.
