Denver Nuggets shooting guard Christian Braun is sidelined indefinitely after spraining his left ankle against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night
DENVER (AP) — Nuggets shooting guard Christian Braun will be sidelined indefinitely after spraining his left ankle on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The team announced Friday that Braun will be re-evaluated in six weeks. Braun is averaging 11.4 points and 4.4 rebounds for the 9-2 Nuggets this season.
Last month, Braun agreed to a $125 million, five-year contract extension. The 24-year-old Braun became a fixture in the starting lineup last season and averaged 15.4 points along with 5.2 rebounds.
He's know for his high-energy defense and hustle. His style of play meshes well alongside Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
Braun was the 21st pick in 2022 after finishing his career at Kansas with a national title. He played an integral role in helping the Nuggets win their first NBA title in 2023.
