Aragon High School Theatre proudly presents Footloose, the Musical! Footloose is an energetic and heartfelt stage adaptation of the 1984 hit film, telling the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who moves from Chicago to a small rural town where dancing and rock music are banned. Determined to challenge the oppressive rules and bring joy back to the community, Ren clashes with the town’s strict Reverend Shaw Moore while also falling for his rebellious daughter, Ariel. Filled with high-spirited choreography, emotional moments, and a soundtrack packed with iconic songs like “Holding Out for a Hero,” “Let’s Hear It for the Boy,” and the title hit “Footloose,” the musical celebrates freedom, self-expression, and the power of youth to spark change.
