Menlo claims crown at All-American Invite
Menlo School captured the prestigious All-American Invitational Championship, defeating Harvard-Westlake 5-1 in the final Saturday at the Jack Kramer Club in Rolling Hills Estates.
It marks the Knights’ first All-American Invitational title in eight years at the annual event.
Menlo (12-0) swept Gilman-Wisconsin and Canyon Crest-San Diego in the opening rounds, then beat University-Irvine 5-1 in a rematch of last year’s CIF state championship to advance to the title match.
The team was down four sets early on against Harvard-Westlake.
Senior Arki Temsamani went 4-0, winning at No. 2 singles and No.1 doubles with Yuanye Ma and Maximus Chan.
Senior Yuanye Ma went 3-1, winning twice at No.1 singles and once at No.1 doubles. Freshman Maximus Chan finished 3-0 with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles. Lucas Huang, a junior, went 3-0 with a win at No. 3 singles in the final and two wins at No. 2 singles with junior James Park and freshman Miles Burnett. Burnett and sophomore Riley Huang had three doubles wins.

Sequoia 3, South San Francisco 0
The Ravens (2-0 PAL Ocean, 4-3 overall) swept 25-13, 25-12, 25-16 at South City (0-2, 1-8) to their second straight PAL Ocean Division win. Sequoia was paced by 12 kills from Grant Park.
Mills 3, El Camino 0
Senior Jayden Glen scored 14 kills to lead the Vikings (2-0 PAL Ocean, 7-3 overall) to their second straight win in PAL Ocean Division play. Senior Ian Lin ran the Mills offense with 28 assists, while senior Jalen Zhu fired three service aces.

Westmoor (1-1 PAL Ocean, 4-3 overall) swept 25-15, 25-13, 26-24 at home against Capuchino (1-1, 3-7).
Boys’ lacrosse
Menlo 12, Menlo-Atherton 4
Menlo School improved to 5-0 at Menlo-Atherton Friday night. The Knights used a balanced scoring attack and a defense that has allowed just nine goals in its last four games.
Seniors Caden Chock posted two goals, two assists while Tyler Hinkie had a hat trick against the Bears (1-2). Senior Palmer Riley picked up two goals and assisted on another while Trevor van der Pyl had a goal and three assists. Goalkeeper Benjamin Chock tallied six saves.

Serra (4-2) rolled to a 15-6 win at home in non-league play against Burlingame (1-2).
Carlmont (1-3) fell 11-1 at home to Lick-Wilmerding-SF (4-0).
Girls’ lacrosse
Hillsdale 10, Castilleja 9
The Lady Knights (3-0 WBAL Skyline, 4-2 overall) went to double overtime at Castilleja (1-2, 3-3) to earn their third straight win of the year, remaining unbeaten in West Bay Athletic League Skyline Division play.
Notre Dame-San Jose 9, Mercy 8
Notre Dame-San Jose senior Mary Rangel scored seven goals to lead the Regents (3-0 WBAL Alpine, 4-0 overall) to the win at Mercy-Burlingame (0-1, 0-1). Junior Clare Timpano added two goals for NDSJ.

Sacred Heart Prep (4-0) rolled to a 19-0 non-league home win over Los Gatos (0-2).
