Terra Nova 3, Mercy-Burlingame 1
Daniela Guterres has made a quick impact in her first year with the Terra Nova (1-1) varsity squad. The sophomore scored twice in the Tigers’ first win of the year in a non-league road game at Mercy-Burlingame (0-2), raising her total to three goals through two games. Junior Brynn Mathews added her first goal of the year, while junior Lily Farmer and sophomore Aleah McArthur each had an assist.
Woodside 1, Los Gatos 1
Woodside (3-0-1) matched up with reigning SCVAL De Anza Division champion Los Gatos (0-0-1) to earn a draw at home. Senior Kaylie McKee scored Woodside’s only goal on an assist from senior Anya Lynch. McKee now has two goals on the young season.
With a daunting non-league schedule, Woodside now travels to reigning four-time WCAL champion St. Francis-Mountain View next Tuesday.
Carlmont 2, Sacred Heart Prep 1
Carlmont (1-1) used two first-half goals to jump ahead and earn its first win of the year in non-league play at home against perennial WBAL Foothill Division power Sacred Heart Prep (0-1). With SHP trailing 2-0, sophomore Aris Yu scored the Gators’ lone goal on an assist from senior Karen Martinez.
Menlo-Atherton 10, Fremont 0
The Bears (1-0-1) scored nine goals in the first half before cooling their jets, and racked up their highest single-goal scoring total since 2015-16 in a home win over Fremont-Sunnyvale (1-2).

The Lady Dons (1-0-1) used Tessa Matthews’ first goal of the year on an assist from junior Kiera Michon to earn a draw at home against Monte Vista-Danville (0-0-1). Last season, Matthews ranked third on the team with four goals.

Burlingame (0-1-1) earned a 1-1 draw at home against reigning CCS Division III champion Menlo School (0-2).
South City (0-2) dropped its second straight, with Wilcox (1-1) winning it 1-0 on a first-half goal from Alissa Bohling Lizarraga.
El Camino (2-1) got back in the win column at home with a 6-0 rout of Westmoor (0-2).
Capuchino (0-3) is still looking for its first win of the year after a 6-0 loss to Everett Alvarez-Salinas (2-0).
Oceana rallied for a 3-1 win in non-league action at home against KIPP-Esperanza.
Boys’ soccer
Crystal 4, Nueva 2
The Gryphons (1-0) opened the season on their short home field, taking down Nueva School (1-1). Crystal is now 5-0 all-time in head-to-head play with the Mavericks.
