San Mateo 43, Westmont 41
The Bearcats took their first lead with just over two minutes left in the game to rally past the Warriors and stay undefeated on the season.
San Mateo (4-0) trailed 23-17 at halftime, but cut the deficit to 32-30 going into the fourth. It was the first time this season San Mateo has been held under 50 points.
Bella Fong continues her strong play for the Bearcats, leading them in scoring for the fourth straight game. She finished with 19 points, while also adding seven rebounds and six assists. Post player Violet MacAvoy had her third double-double in four games, finishing with 10 points and 12 boards.
Westmont falls to 2-2 with the loss.
Summit Shasta 64, Mercy 37
The Black Bears jumped on the Bears early and cruised to the win in a loser’s bracket game in the Kelly Shea Gallo Memorial Tournament hosted by Mills.
Summit Shasta (2-2) took control early, outscoring Mercy (1-3) 25-4 in the first quarter. Mercy stabilized after that, playing the Black Bears close the rest of the way, but the damage was done.
Notre Dame-Belmont 47, Aptos 16
The Tigers held the Mariners to single-digit scoring in all four quarters as they cruised to the non-league win.
NDB (3-0) led 23-9 at halftime and added a point to its lead by the end of the third before puting Aptos (2-2) away with a 17-point fourth quarter.
In other action ...
North-Torrance (5-0) moved into the championship game of the Mills tournament with a 59-42 win over Sacred Heart Prep (1-2).
Sequoia (3-1) held off Nueva School (0-2), 35-32.
Woodland Christian (2-0) beat Carlmont (0-1), 34-28.
Liberty-Brentwood (1-1) got past Half Moon Bay (1-1), 51-46.

Serra 75, Ygnacio Valley-Concord 63

The Padres scored 20 or more points in the first two quarters and rode a halftime lead to the win over the Wolves.
Serra (2-0) led 21-13 after the first quarter before adding 22 more in the second to lead 43-25 at the break. Ygnacio Valley (0-2) stayed in the game by outscoring the Padres 22-18 in the third period, but the deficit was too great to make up.
Mountain View 55, Burlingame 51
The Spartans handed the Panthers their first loss of the season in the semifinals of the Gary Brinck Invitational tournament hosted by Westmont.
Mountain View (2-1) led the entire way and kept Burlingame (2-1) at arms’ length the rest of the way. Leading by just one at halftime, 22-21, Mountain View used a 21-point third quarter to give the Spartans some breathing room.
Aragon 53, Galileo-SF 52 OT
The Dons needed overtime to get past the Lions in a non-league meeting.
Aragon (1-1) opened up an 18-11 lead after the first quarter and led 32-24 at halftime.
Galileo (1-2) got back in the game in the third, outscoring the Dons 11-4 to trail 36-35 going into the fourth.
The Lions outscored the Dons by a point in the fourth to force overtime, but Aragon returned the favor in the extra period to take the win.
North Valley Baptist 77, Nueva School 75 OT
The Bulldogs and Mavericks were involved in a barnburner, with NVB pulling out a two-point, overtime victory.
NVB (1-1) led 38-29 at halftime, but Nueva (0-1) outscored the Bulldogs 19-11 to trail 49-48 going into the fourth. The teams combined for 43 fourth-quarter points, with Nueva tying the game at 70-all before falling in overtime.

St. Francis-La Cañada (4-2) gave Menlo-Atherton (0-1) a season-opening loss, 57-47.
Amador Valley-Pleasanton (2-1) beat Carlmont (0-2), 71-53.
San Mateo (3-1) slipped past Homestead (1-2), 40-37.
Priory (2-0) ripped South Fork-Miranda (0-4) 103-42 in the Redwood Classic tournament in Anderson.
Napa (1-2) topped Westmoor (2-2), 37-28.
Montgomery-Santa Rosa (4-0) beat Woodside (0-3), 50-35.
