The Colts (3-0 PAL Lake, 7-2 overall) kept rolling with their seventh win in a row, taking down Westmoor (0-1, 3-2) in Daly City. El Camino’s Carlos Alcala followed up his six-hit performance against Summit Shasta last Thursday by going 5 for 5 with five RBIs, bringing his season batting average up to .433. Westmoor struggled defensively, walking 13 batters, hitting four, and committing four fielding errors. Alejandro Topete added onto the Colts offensive dominance, hitting 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a triple.
Softball
Menlo-Atherton 5, Palo Alto 4
The Bears (7-1) brawled through the final two innings to walk off with a win at home in non-league play against Palo Alto (7-2). M-A trailed 2-0 in the sixth but swung ahead with a four-run rally. Palo Alto fired back with a two-run rally in the top of the seventh, setting the stage for the Bears’ dramatics. Juliana Pandolfo went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored for M-A, while senior Kylie Cox had a single and two RBIs. Junior Kira Tzeng paced the Vikings with two hits and an RBI.
Santa Clara 14, South City 3

Santa Clara (5-5) scored six runs in the bottom of the first and tallied in every inning to lead wire-to-wire in non-league action against visiting South City (4-5). Senior Gisele Valdez paced the Bruins with two hits and three RBIs. South City totaled four hits, paced by junior Sydney Semans’ 2-for-3 day with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Madyson Jade Quintanilla walked twice in three plate appearances, and logged an 0-for-1 day to snap a seven-game hitting streak.
Boys’ volleyball
Mills 3, South San Francisco 0
Colin Chen scored 11 kills to lead the Vikings (5-0 PAL Ocean, 13-5 overall) to a 25-5, 25-9, 25-21 sweep at South City (0-5, 1-11). Ricky Cheng added seven kills for Mills, while setter Matthew Lee totaled 20 assists and three service aces.
Boys’ tennis
Hillsdale 6, Sequoia 1
Hillsdale (5-0 PAL Ocean, 5-3 overall) swept through doubles play to remain undefeated in PAL Ocean Division play at Sequoia. No. 1 doubles Leon Zhou and Mathias Gerber rolled 6-2, 6-3; Matheus Biago and Kellen Kalmbach win 6-2, 6-0; and Ahmad Dababo and Evan Motamed won 6-1, 6-1. Sequoia No. 1 single swept 6-1, 6-0 for the Ravens’ only win of the afternoon.
