The Gators (1-3 PAL Bay, 5-4 overall) held the line in the closing minutes at home against Palo Alto (0-4, 0-9) to snap a three-game losing streak.
SHP took a 28-7 lead early in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard scoring run by senior Andrew Shen, but Paly made it interesting. The Vikings cut it to 28-14 midway through the fourth on an 8-yard run by Lara Saslow, then made it a one-score game on Justin Fung’s 20-yard scoring pass to Jake Wang with three minutes to play. Palo Alto forced a punt in the closing minute but fired four straight incomplete passes to end it.
SHP senior Sasha Bamdad rushed for three touchdowns of 24, 5 and 12 yards in the contest.
