Aragon 2, Terra Nova 1
After five innings of scoreless baseball, Aragon (4-2 PAL Ocean, 11-5 overall) overcame a run in the top of the sixth with two runs in the bottom of the frame to win it at home against Terra Nova (3-3, 9-8).
The Tigers took the lead against Aragon starting pitcher Alex Gosselin in the top of the inning with an RBI single from junior Jesse Martinez. Then, in the bottom of the inning, Terra Nova starter Aiden James was on the verge of escaping a two-on, two-out jam when an infield error allowed Kai Thornton to score the tying run, and extend the inning. Then Aragon executed a double steal, with Tristan Levadoux swiping home to give the Dons the lead.
Gosselin went the distance, allowing one run on seven hits while striking out five. His record improves to 3-1 with a 1.49 ERA.
San Mateo 2, South City 1
Junior right-hander Jesus Olivas went the distance to record his second straight complete-game victory as the Bearcats (5-1 PAL Ocean, 12-4 overall) claimed the win at South City (0-6, 5-12). With the game tied 1-1 in the fifth, San Mateo senior Tyce Copus scored all the way from first base on an errant throw. Copus was 1 for 2 with a double and scored both the Bearcats’ runs. Olivas allowed one run on five hits with two walks, two hit batsmen and six strikeouts. His record improves to 5-1 with a 2.42 ERA. South City senior Adam Keith led all batters with two hits.
Woodside 7, Mills 6
Woodside reliever Anderson Comfort escaped a two-on, two-out jam in the sixth, and senior closer Cruz Torres closed it out with a scoreless seventh as the Wildcats (4-2 PAL Ocean, 10-4 overall) held off a late push at home against Mills (0-6, 4-10).
Woodside took an early 2-1 lead on a two-run home run in the second by sophomore Mateus Mokhtarani, and took a 7-2 lead into the sixth. But the Vikings rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth, capped by an RBI single from sophomore Ethan Wong. With Vikings at first and second, Comfort buckled down, inducing a groundout to third to retire the side. Woodside starter Jax Enochs earned his first varsity win, allowing two runs (one earned) through five innings of work.
Harker 14, Westmoor 3
Harker-San Jose (6-1 PAL Lake, 10-6 overall) finished off a three-game season sweep Westmoor (2-5, 5-6) as the Eagles scored in double figures for the eighth time this season. With the win, second-place Harker stays within one game of first-place El Camino in the PAL Lake Division standings, with two games remaining between the two division frontrunners at the end of the month.
Yah Greene and Vidwat Shekar paced the Eagles with two hits and two RBIs apiece. Junior Darrick Monteverde led Westmoor with two hits and two RBIs.

Softball
San Mateo 7, Carlmont 6
After falling behind 6-0 in the first, the Bearcats (5-2 PAL Bay, 10-4 overall) rode a big day from freshman Anya Cheng to win it on their home field against Carlmont (0-6, 3-15-1).
Sophomore Chloe Kumli capped the the Scots’ rally in the top of the first with a two-run triple. But Cheng emerged to settle things down with four scoreless innings of work, and San Mateo rallied back to tie it in the fourth when Demi Alfonso scored from third on an error. Then in the fifth, Cheng led off with a triple to center and racing all the way around to score on a throwing error to score what proved to be the game-winning run.
In the longest pitching outing of her short varsity career, Cheng worked four innings, allowing five hits with a walk and four strikeouts. She also enjoyed one of her best days at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Junior reliever Cecelia Hernandez closed out the game with three scoreless innings of relief, facing one over the minimum to earn the win.
Hillsdale 2, Mills 1
The Lady Knights (5-1 PAL Bay, 11-7 overall) staged a walk-off win to remain in the driver’s seat in the PAL Bay Division. After being held scoreless through the first six innings, Hillsdale rallied in the bottom of the seventh to win it on a walk-off double from junior Ania Aleshi. Junior Kara Chia sparked the comeback rally with a one-out single to the left side of the infield. Then after Vanessa Lorton reached on an error, Aleshi crushed a booming double to center to drive home both runs and set off a celebration in the Hillsdale infield.
With Mills pitcher Kalia Woo and Hillsdale starter Sophia Lebron trading zeroes through the early going, Mills junior Lucy Esquivel broke the scoreless tied with a solo home run in the fourth. Lebron took a no-decision, allowing one run on three hits through six innings. Junior reliever Maddie Pena earned the win with one perfect inning of work in the seventh. Hillsdale senior Mia DeMartini paced all batters with three hits, upping her season average to .393.
With the win, first-place Hillsdale maintains a slight lead in the PAL Bay standings, with second-place San Mateo a half game back, and third-place Aragon trailing by one game.
South City 17, Lowell 7
The Warriors (8-7) scored in every inning, including an eight-run outburst in the bottom of the fourth before sophomore Madyson Jade Quintanilla ended it with a two-run double in the bottom of the fifth to walk it off with the mercy-rule home win over Lowell-SF (7-9) in non-league play. Quintanilla and junior Sydney Semans each totaled two hits with a double and three RBIs for South City, while junior Kadence Yip added a double with three RBIs. Semans allowed seven runs (six earned) through five innings of work in the circle to earn the win, upping her record to 7-2.
