Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the third, Half Moon Bay rallied for four runs to take the lead for good in a win over rival Pacifica at Baylands Athletic Center. Jaxson Angelini gave HMB the lead with an RBI single to right field to score Isaiah Watermulder.
Pitchers Camden Crowell and Max Plancarte did the rest, combining to post four scoreless frames. Crowell went 6 2/3 as HMB’s starting pitcher, allowing three runs (one earned). Plancarte entered to get the final out with a strikeout.
Crowell paced HMB’s offense with two hits, while Angelini and Watermulder had one hit and two RBIs apiece.
With the win, HMB advances to the winners’ bracket semifinals to face Palo Alto, Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at Red Morton Park.

Palo Alto erupted for 13 runs in the first inning and never looked back, rolling to a five-inning mercy-rule win over Redwood City at Baylands Athletic Center.
RWC earned the right to play five innings after scoring five times in the second. Declan McLaughlin got RWC on the board with an RBI single, Alex Shatara followed with a two-run double, and Dylan Rewak singled home a run before Shatara scored on an error.
With the win, Palo Alto advances to the winners’ bracket semifinals to face Half Moon Bay, Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at Red Morton Park.
