San Mateo American 10, Redwood City 0
Two San Mateo American pitchers combined on a five-inning no-hitter, as the team earned its second straight 10-0 win in the District 52 11s tournament at District Field, earning a fifth-inning mercy-rule walk-off against Redwood City.
American rallied for three runs in the fifth, capped by a bases-loaded, three-run double to right by Drew Kettman, driving home Jameson Stoloski, Grayson McLaughlin and Cullen Whiley. Kettman’s heroics capped the successful no-hit bid, with McLaughlin earning the win by working 3 2/3 innings, allowing one walk, while striking out eight. Stoloski set down all four batters he faced in relief through 1 1/3 innings.
Kettman went 2 for 2 with a walk, three RBIs and two runs scored, as American banged out 12 hits. McLaughlin and Avir Humphrey added two hits apiece.
American advances through the winners’ bracket to take on Pacifica, Thursday, at 3 p.m.
San Mateo National 11, Belmont-Redwood Shores 2
Luke Passalacqua tallied a triple and three RBIs in the fifth, and San Mateo National cruised to a regulation victory over Belmont-Redwood Shores at District Field.
National broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run second and led the rest of the way, adding five insurance runs in the fifth. Brandon Laguna gave National the lead in the second with an RBI fielder’s choice to bring home Sterling Bailey. Caden Jensen capped the rally with an RBI single to plate Sam DePuy. BRS totaled five hits in the game, including an RBI singles from Dylan Sharff.
Laguna earned the win as National’s starting pitcher, allowing one run (none earned) on five hits through 3 1/3 innings. Bailey bridged 1 2/3 innings of relief, and Zach Piccinini fired a scoreless sixth to close it out. Jameson Biddle, Djaven Blanks, Sharff and Shota Harada pitched for BRS.
National advances through the winners’ bracket to take on Menlo-Atherton, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m.

Menlo-Atherton 13, Alpine 12
Trailing 10-1 in the back half of the game, Menlo-Atherton rallied for four runs in the fourth and eight more in the fifth to claim a stunning comeback victory over Alpine at District Field.
Ryder Braniff put M-A ahead in the fifth with a two-run double to left to bring home Dom Napoli and Colin Spicer. Spicer previously tied it with an RBI knock to score Johnny Arata. Alpine took the early lead with two runs in the first, then upped it to 10-1 with an eight-run second.
M-A totaled 13 hits on the day, paced by Arata, who went 3 for 3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Spicer, Jack Lehmkuhl and Henry Smith added two hits apiece.
M-A advances through the winners’ bracket to take on San Mateo National, Thursday, at 5:30 p.m.
Pacifica 4, Hillsborough 3
Once Pacifica got the upper hand, relief pitcher Miles Tucker put the team on his back and carried them to victory over Hillsborough at District Field.
Trailing 3-2, Pacifica swung ahead with a two-run rally in the bottom of the third. Chase Tevis singled home Hunter Potencion with the tying run, and RJ Villazon them the lead with an infield single to drive in Tevis. Tucker then delivered 3 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks, while striking out three, to earn the win in relief of Jackson Painter. Jack Veach, Caroline Gherini and Justin Ng pitched for Hillsborough.
Potencion led the Pacifica offense with two hits and two runs scored, when Lincoln Balagot recorded two RBIs with a two-run double in the second. Brady Lien paced Hillsborough with two hits, while Momo Lubarsky tabbed a single and an RBI.
Pacifica advances to the winners’ bracket quarterfinals to face San Mateo American, Thursday, at 3 p.m. Hillsborough falls to the elimination bracket to take on Palo Alto, Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m.
