The El Camino boys’ soccer team have been on a tear the last two seasons. The Colts won the 2025 Lake Division title and lost in the first round of the Central Coast Section Division V playoffs.
The Colts came back this year with their core intact and proceeded to blast their way to an undefeated PAL Ocean Division crown as they finished the regular season as one of only two teams to complete unbeaten seasons.
Fifth-seeded El Camino ran its unbeaten streak to 20 in a row following a 3-1 win over No. 6 Latino College Prep in the first round last Saturday to advance to Wednesday’s semifinal game against No. 2 Soledad (16-3-3).
It was a long, two-and-a-half hour bus ride home for the Colts, as their first loss of the season also ended it following a 3-2 defeat to the Aztecs in Salinas.
El Camino (19-1-1) dug itself a big hole, giving up three first-half goals as the Colts trailed 3-1 at the break, as a Danny Figueroa Jr. strike off a pass from Manny Tafolla kept them in the game
El Camino got one back in the second from Andrew Tafolla, off a feed from Ayden Fernandez, but the Colts could not net the equalizer.
