Vote for Michael Craig and Warren Lieberman for Belmont City Council. If they are not elected the Belmont City Council will be group think.
Craig and Lieberman listen to residents, are independent thinkers and beholden to no one.
Craig’s opponent at a city planning meeting described her tour of a cannabis store in glowing terms. Craig fought against the cannabis stores at the City Council meeting. Lieberman was the only City Council member who listened to residents and stopped the cannabis stores on Ralston Avenue and Old County Road. He refused to table the issue as was suggested, and made a motion to remove cannabis placement from Old County Road and Ralston Avenue.
Both candidates understand the housing, traffic and parking problems in Belmont and will work for the best solutions for all of Belmont.
Vote for Craig and Lieberman, the top candidates for the City Council.
Lieberman did not single-handedly defeat the cannabis measure. There was massive opposition to the measure from public speakers at the meeting in question. The entire council got the message loud and clear. Just because Lieberman supporters keep pushing the false narrative that Lieberman single-handedly defeated this measure doesn't make it true. Lieberman was for cannabis stores near housing before he was against it. “My preference right now [for cannabis stores] is the northern and Southern end of El Camino, I think are the most likely places” https://www.smdailyjournal.com/news/local/belmont-discuses-potential-commercial-cannabis-sites/article_b8ad020a-45f5-11ec-a4ef-8f3aa33b1daa.html
Please go back and watch city council and planning commission Videos. Citizenry spoke but still others needed to postpone and get more input . Lieberman questioned how much more opposition did the rest of council need and they agreed to the citizenry . Yes grassroot does work.
