Treatment center should go somewhere else

The city or county has put in $2 million to help secure money for a grant, which will allow for a contract to pay $6.5 million for a facility run by Horizon in the heart of a section of El Camino Real that is within a very short distance from day care centers, homes, senior centers and has no hospital or quick access to police presence should (or when) something does occur.

There are plenty of other sites that could be used for this facility if the county really wanted to help fund this. Sad that our elected officials are not listening to the people who will be directly impacted by this facility and for the safety and welfare of their constituents. There is also a child and family counseling center directly across the street at 120 El Camino Real.

The El Camino project is coming and many people will lose access to parking along that corridor as well. This is a very bad intersection with accidents happening every few days. Here is hoping the concerns of the citizens will be given consideration and this moved to another site in San Mateo County.
