B). Millbrae council candidate You You Xue’s campaign succeeded in raising awareness among residents (re: the need for more transparency and accountability in our city government). He’s permanently raised the bar. Is that not how history measures real success?
C). Hey, it’s not over. It’s a promising first season — one that will kick off a long series of positive changes for the city of Millbrae.
In 1975, Michigan Coach Bo Schembechler took a chance on an 18-year-old quarterback named Rick Leach. Leach led his team to a great inaugural season, but lost the clincher against Ohio State (for the Big Ten Championship) after throwing an interception. Even today, it’s a heartbreaker. Schembechler and Michigan fans handled the loss well — they had faith in Leach, who went on to post 10-2 records for the next three seasons and never lost to Ohio State again.
Glad to see Xue and his supporters handling things well Wednesday morning.
