Editor,
The Washington Post decided endorsements did not matter as an “October surprise” that well may have caused too many voters to believe their votes did not matter either.
Editor,
The Washington Post decided endorsements did not matter as an “October surprise” that well may have caused too many voters to believe their votes did not matter either.
Then, when Biden looks at the changed circumstances resulting from the election results and realizes that the only option to protect his son from promised vengeance is to pardon him, now the Washington Post has an opinion about that. The claim that Biden’s changing of his mind due to changed circumstances somehow gives the incoming administration and the GOP “cover” for all of their promised acts of vengeance and strong-man-rule (instead of democracy), is ridiculous. I cannot fathom why the Daily Journal bothered to print the Post’s opinion.
The election demonstrated that propaganda outweighed facts. My continuing hope is that there are enough elements of decency remaining in our three branches of government, that our democratic republic will not be lost.
A free press that is dedicated to presenting facts is necessary to that hope. Thank you for permitting me to voice my opinion.

Good morning, Tasha
I agree with you... we need a free press, but I'm scratching my head over your criticism of the Daily Journal for printing an opinion because you disagree with that opinion.
I'm going to guess your disappointment goes beyond the WaPo's opinion piece and includes the outcome of last month's general election. The other LTE in today's Daily Journal offers some advice for those feeling the same disappointment. Should the Journal have not printed that reader's opinion?
Thanks for your letter, Ms. Levinson, but you needn’t worry. Trump is bringing decency back into the executive branch of government. We can hope the same for the Republican-led House and Senate, too. We can also hope that Trump will re-institute a free mainstream press dedicated to presenting facts but we have to remember, there doesn’t appear to be any cure for Trump Derangement Syndrome so the odds aren’t in favor for that to occur.
