One can agree with letter writer L.R. Hugdahl’s admonition for Congress to do its job (as posited in SMDJ April 27 edition), but not accept the conclusions. When Donald Trump took his singular oath of office, he swore to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. Inherent in the oath is the duty to protect against enemies foreign and domestic.
The Mueller report made it clear the Russians meddled in our 2016 election, with Donald Trump obstructing justice related to it at least 10 times, thus violating his oath of office. Mueller made it clear Congress should be the body to prosecute. Congress is thus duty bound to do its constitutional duty to begin impeachment proceedings.
Many Democrats have accused Republicans of placing party above country but now the shoe is on the other foot. Democrats must place country above party in the impeachment process to show no one, not even the president, is above the law. Our constitution, and conversely the country, will only be stronger by sticking to the mandated process.

Whoa Rel-ly! Sounds like you need to get over the Mueller report or keep chasing your tail, whichever makes you feel better. Maybe you can write a letter about why Democrats support the death penalty - for babies. I mean, these babies are potential Democrat voters, so what's with the push for infanticide? Or do Democrats feel the votes of illegal aliens are more important? Please educate us.

That's funny! Wasn't Obama president while this alleged meddling by the Russians was going on and, therefore, should it not have been him and his administration that was duty bound by said oath of office?
