Fun to read about the new library at Half Moon Bay (“Half Moon Bay library’s grand opening” in the Aug. 17 edition of the Daily Journal). This will be a great addition to the city — architects Noll and Tam design great buildings, including the library in Fremont opening in three weeks.
But the HMB library is not be the first net zero-energy building in San Mateo county as Zachary Clark wrote. Completed three years ago, the award winning Benedictine Classroom Building at Woodside Priory School is not only net zero energy, it is net positive, putting spare power into other campus buildings. The architects for this beautiful, sustainable building are Goring & Straja of Berkeley.
