First, Elon Musk was appointed by the president — no appointee is “elected” to their roles; the president appoints the Cabinet and advisors he wants and they execute the plan. The plan in this instance has been well advertised; it is to stop the waste, fraud and corruption within our government institutions. And, your claim of “nontranspancy” in doing so is simply absurd — all associated with DOGE have been totally transparent (see doge.gov) and they continue to invite comment from anyone on whatever might be moving them on the subject.
You asked, and my feedback is: Anyone who has a better idea on how to stop the waste, fraud and abuse/corruption should absolutely find a way to be heard, and those that don’t understand the issue should sit quietly aside. And, I’m thinking it would be best to let those with whatever stocks, sort out suggestions such as yours with their own professional advisor — pretty sure you’re not one.

Musk "appointed" to do? Create chaos? If so, mission accomplished!
Thank you for your letter Mr. Carranza. Jefferson noted that the idea of our 2 party system was for one party to get into office to clean up the corruption of the former party. Musk is doing just that at the expense of hundreds of millions in lost stock value to Tesla and the pension funds of many retired people. The reaction of some Dems is to burn Tesla cars. How quickly they forget that Elon was the genius that gave the green revolution the boost it needed at a critical time.
Elon Musk is just having fun, messing around like a child, to see what it can get away with, - with no further thought behind it.
Jorg - I have a quote for you by Noah Rothman, a writer in the National Review; and BTW, not much of a Trump supporter:" If you are truly convinced that everyone is dumber than you, it is you who has succumbed to a delusion. It is an unfortunate consequence of that belief that you are also likely to be the last to know it." Sorry Jorg, I am signing off again.
Thanks for your letter, Mr. Carranza Jr. It is amusing to see Dems vandalizing Tesla cars and dealerships and hoping Tesla stock price goes down. Perhaps many Dems have forgotten that their 401k’s and mutual funds have plenty of money invested in Tesla. What hurts Tesla hurts their pocketbooks, too, but perhaps some of these folks and their supporters don’t think of the long-term consequences. Good luck to law enforcement to arrest and prosecute these domestic terrorists.
Hi TBot, I knew you would come around on the whole EV thing. Who would have thought sustainable transportation has suddenly become so important to Fox News. I am waiting for the law when every single patriot MUST buy a Cybertruck - only to safe King and Country, of course.
Now for the left it was first horrific to watch their sustainability idol to switch sides after they fed him all subsidizes possible and kept saving his failing companies through one bad project after another (Las Vegas hyperloop anyone?) - and then he just turns around and ditches them for even bigger 'subsidies'. China tariffs are all about preventing competition with BYD - the company that would eat Tesla's lunch.
eGerd – TBot here. I’m not sure I need to “come around on the whole EV thing” since I was always for choice. Everyone knows the EV thing was never about global warming or saving the world. For instance, who would have thought all the Dems who supported Musk and his EV thing are now resorting to domestic terrorism because they have Musk Derangement Syndrome? It’s as if their masks were taken off and the truth came out. All because their sustainability idol switched sides and decided he wanted to do his part of Make America Great Again. Again, good luck to law enforcement to arrest and prosecute these domestic terrorist. I hope everyone does their part to help law enforcement capture and prosecute these domestic terrorists. BTW, your thoughts on the domestic terrorists vandalizing all things Tesla?
"since I was always for choice"
I'm glad to hear that for the next time we will discuss another outstanding tool of choice: Bike Lanes.
But yes, you are correct. Musk was basically California's answer to Climate Change, him and nothing else. They put their whole weight and subsidies into him and his companies, while he made fools of them.
But his companies allowed them to drive very expensive cars for every little joyride and lazy coffee shop outing instead of walking or riding a bicycle instead. By declaring nighttime fossil fuel power "green" (with the help of Peninsula Clean Energy) they could pretend to be "Heroes Of Sustainability" by essentially wasting a lot of marketing funding, but eventually doing nothing of substance.
Without Tesla, the 101 highway expansion makes even less sense, since now it's all about air pollution.
(Btw. if San Mateo Democrats really were green we would see bike lanes everywhere, we would see bus lanes on major arteries, and we would see wind turbines along the Pacific and the Bay to have a locally powered microgrid - instead we got "green marketing" and "GHG laundering".)
When you weed a garden, you don't take a shovel to it and throw out the good with the bad. You are a constant gardener who knows her garden and what is thriving and what is not or cannot. You do it smart and with care. This is all a big show to terrorize people into silence and fear. It does us, our country, no good. Billionaires are Bad for America.
Mr. Carranza - Good points! Next, we need DOGE in California.
