Editor,

In support of local journalism, my hat’s off to journalist Alexei Koseff of CalMatters whose coverage of Gavin Newsom’s budget is informative, in-depth and entertaining.

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Eakin, but don’t you find it ironic, and highly comedic, that this top former government official who himself has fed at the government trough (and may still be feeding at the government trough) is attempting to demonize Musk? Didn’t so-called leaders create the conditions to allow Musk to take advantage of government choosing winners and losers? And then we have Newsom, who has been feeding at the government trough for at least 20 years. BTW, great byline from the linked article, “Governor has grown California government to record size, now he is pitching something leaner.” My prediction is more of Newsom talking the talk but not walking the walk. Par for Newsom’s course. Which is why California continues to burn.
