Editor,

What the heck? Letter writer Neil Wild is sure wild about the Donald. In his May 10-11 letter he beseeches all of us prez-bashers to sit quietly for six months as:

Kat - good luck with your book. When you get to providing corroboration for your insipid accusations, you will find out that they are based on thin air. Of course, most liberals have refused to walk back their allegations that proved to be nonsense. Many of us are now sighing a breath of relief and I am sorry that you still have difficulty accepting the common sense approach of the new administration.

Jorg

What on flat Earth do you mean, Dirk, by "common sense approach of the new administration."? I haven't seen any, and I'm basically considered a rather "sensitive" person.

Dirk van Ulden

""common sense approach of the new administration" is in the eye of the beholder. It is difficult to deny now that even CNN is switching sides, while MSNBC continues its eventual slide into the abyss.

Rel

Dirk, as usual, factually challenged. MSNBC slide into the abyss? See this recent quote on the ratings: "In the recent past, MSNBC has generally outperformed CNN in terms of viewership, especially during primetime. While both networks have experienced some declines, particularly in the aftermath of the 2024 election, MSNBC has consistently drawn more viewers than CNN. For example, in the first quarter of 2025, MSNBC averaged 1.02 million primetime viewers, while CNN averaged 558,000." Some slide indeed!

Ray Fowler

Hi, Rel

You skipped over the first item reported in your first quarter 2025 cable new ratings. It shows Fox News leading with 3.01 million primetime viewers... that's up 46% from the previous year. So maybe we can make the argument that both CNN and MSNBC are sliding but CNN is sliding faster.

Ah yes…Rel, as usual, cherry picking statistics which aren’t relevant in an effort to malign Mr. van Ulden. Hey Rel, we don’t care how many viewers MSNBC has vs. CNN. The bigger question is how much viewership has increased/decreased against CNN since our (yes, our) great President Trump’s reign of office began, again. For instance, is MSNBC losing a greater percentage of viewers than CNN? I believe there was a recent report of media viewership numbers and MSNBC is shedding more viewers than CNN. And if so, Mr. van Ulden is correct that MSNBC is continuing its eventual slide into the abyss. Have a Trump-tastic day!

Terence Y

Thanks for your letter, Ms. Berger. If you can barely read Neil’s letter and can’t sit still, perhaps this isn’t the time to tell you that our (yes, our) great President Trump has well over three more years. And perhaps another four years should Trump 2028 succeed. Good luck in coping. More power to Trump to Make America Great Again. BTW, I’m waiting on Dems to produce an album of their best Trump/Musk protest songs. I can’t say any of them sound hit-worthy, though I believe some Dems will be happy to fork over their money, whether self-earned or taken from taxpayers.

Jorg

Right on, Kat! And let us not forget all the insane appointments Trump has made, with totally unqualified people for the most important positions, like RFKjr.’s brain worm in charge of HHS?

And Hegseth in charge of the Pentagon, - an alcoholic who has messed up and embezzled every little thing he has been involved with? And people keep voting for a liar like Trump, who has made himself a laughingstock around the world, even bragging about something as unmanly and revolting as his p-grabbing?
