Frank Scafani criticizes our "spineless Democratic congress” of doing nothing "while the little deserter and his band of Cretans/Zionists plan another preemptive war on yet another sovereign nation.” He then refers to Israel’s "final solution to the Palestine problem.”
It is expedient to trivialize and minimize the impact of the Islamic Revolution that is in the process of overrunning Europe and has exported itself to South America. It may not be long before Islamic extremism will again harm us if it isn’t halted in its tracks. The daily murder of our troops is a tragic reminder of the odds we face. The sooner the bloodletting ends, the better. But for all of his bumbling, and for all of their corrupt practices, Dubya and the Republicans understand the problem. After all, it was a Democrat, Jimmy Carter, who set the Islamic Revolution in motion by praising the unholy Khomeini as a "holy man.” When the bombs start exploding here, Mr. Scafani, who you gonna call?

Terrorists not fundamentalist Muslims
Editor,
Some don’t get it. Frank Scafani, in his letter to the editor, castigates the United States and its allies, such as Israel, for their defensive actions against Islamic-fascist terrorists. While I agree it is taking a long time to manage terrorist threats and we sadly mourn the death of many brave soldiers, Scafani forgets that democratic societies were and continue to be attacked by religious fanatics who have been taught to kill "infidels,” that is, those that are not fundamentalist Muslims. Does he propose that we allow these religious terrorists to attack and kill us at will?

Playing the race card
Editor,
If by chance "The System” finds that Ed Jew is guilty of the charges leveled against him I wonder if the SF Chinese Democratic Club will have the courage to be stand up guys and admit they were wrong relative their very early statement that the charges were racially motivated. Easy not to, however, than you run the risk of casting yourselves in the same light as the Al Sharptons and Jessie Jacksons of the world who have repeatedly demonstrated they are race baiters never admitting they are wrong in like very early comments defending and/or accusing their selected interests, ie: Tawana Bradley and the Duke rape case. They have clearly shown they have no character. What say you guys?
