Richard King is so right when he says, "The two party political machine is out of touch with the voters” and "both parties still don’t get it.” ("Out of touch politicians” letter in the Jan. 21 edition of the Daily Journal).
Well, do we voters get it? Neither party gives any interest or concern about the working people of this nation. It is pretty dumb to get mad at one party and vote for the other one. Both corporate parties are part of the same two headed corporate monster. Our elected officials are working in the interests of the people who give them political "donations” — in fact bribes!
Today, the Supreme Court has ruled that no limits may be put on the "contributions” corporations may "donate” to people running to be our representatives. Yeah right! Who do you think they really represent?

We must face the fact that our democracy has deteriorated a great deal since our nation was founded. We must do all we can to take back control of our government. You remember what you learned in school, don’t you? A government of the people, by the people and for the people. In order to get back to that, you must not vote for either Democrats or Republicans. We need to hold them responsible for their disregard of the working people of this nation. There are other names on the ballot. Investigate them and the other "minor” parties. The status quo is killing us and our democracy. Time for us to take another path and drop our ties to the corporate parties. It is clear they don’t care about you.
