William J. Correll 

William J. Correll passed away peacefully on January 6, 2018 at his home in Millbrae, CA at the age of 92. William was the son of Pauline Correll, who survived the 1906 earthquake, pre deceased in 1974.

William was born and raised in San Francisco where he attended Mission High. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Marine Corp.  He served in WW II and Korea; ranked PLG Sergeant E-6. He returned to San Francisco and became a Battalion Fire Chief at Fire House 5, retiring after 30 years of service. William enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin in Russian River.  He frequented playland at Ocean Beach, always laughing with The Laffing Sal. William was a member of the San Mateo Elks Club, DAV and the Marine Memorial Association.
