Tasuku Tom Daikoku, born June 3, 1926, died Oct. 8, 2017.
He was a retired gardener who resided in San Mateo and a longtime San Francisco Giants fan. He was born in Broderick, California, to the late Yasujiro Daikoku and Tomo Kamatani. When he was 15, his family was interned in Tule Lake, California, and he was later sent to Bismarck, North Dakota.
Survived by children Gale Daikoku-Bommelaere and Norma Daikoku; grandchildren: Connor Caldwell, Kyra Bommelaere and Maya Bommelaere; and siblings Umeyo Helen Tanaka of Sanger, California, Saburo Daikoku of Sepulveda, California, Yoshito Daikoku of Fullerton, California, and Akira Daikoku of Fullerton, California. Preceded in death by wife June Natsuye Daikoku and siblings Yayeko Fay Tokunaga, Shigeto Daikoku and Midori Ishida.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo CA. Inurnment at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo CA.
