Joseph Piazza died peacefully in his own home Sept. 25, 2018, at the age of 98.
“It was just in time to reunite with wife Ann to celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary (Sept. 27, 2018) in heaven.Â
He served in the Navy during World War II on the USS Isabella and Enterprise and honorably discharged Oct. 10, 1945. A marine mechanic by profession, he serviced numerous fishing boats, yachts and ships in the S.F. Naval shipyard and was a longstanding union member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerosmith Workers.
Beloved father of Linda Piazza-Simpson (Dennis), grandsons Matt (Jessica), Scott (Rebecca), Patrick, great-grandchildren Connor, Heidi, Riley, Ashley and a large extended Italian family (Piazza and Carrabino) of brothers/sisters (in-laws), nieces/nephews (great), cousins (first and second), godchildren, numerous neighbors and friends spanning his 90+ years residency in San Francisco.
Family and friends are invited to his memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae. In lieu of flowers, make a donation in his name to your favorite charity.
