James Creighton Main, CTC, a 40 year resident of Foster City, died June 14, 2026, after a long illness. His one brother Christopher Avery Main (Sara) of Shaker Heights, Ohio, two nieces, Laura Avery Webster (Derek) and Mary Anne Grimwade (Rob) both of Chardon, Ohio, survive him, along with their children Violet and Logan Webster and Julia, Emily and Charles Grimwade. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Claudette LaMothe Main, his father James Avery Main, his birth-mother Rebecca Horr Main, and his loving “adopted” mother, Marion Morris Main.

After graduating from Governor Dummer Academy in 1958(now The Governor’s Academy) in Byfield, Massachusetts, and attending Denison University in Granville, Ohio, Jim served in the U.S. Navy as a Personnelman with VS-33 on board the USS Bennington during the mid ‘60’s and was proud of his affiliation with the USS Bennington Reunion Association in later years.
