Bernice V. Miller, resident of San Mateo, born March 28, 1927, died Nov. 19, 2018, peacefully with her family by her side after a brief stay at a convalescent hospital.
“She lived a long and fulfilling life and touched many people with her love and kindness.”
Born in San Francisco, she graduated from Notre Dame High School on Dolores Street, attended secretary school and became an executive secretary for Standard Oil Company. She later married Walter Miller and raised three children, working part time as well. Bea, as she was known by her friends, was a great cook and devoted to her family and church. She was admired and adored by all who knew her as a sweet, caring and generous person. She loved all animals and was always concerned for animals in need. Bea enjoyed gardening, entertaining, trips to Reno, and worked part time at home doing transcribing on the computer well into her late 80s.
“Her kind, loving spirit will be greatly missed.”
Bea is survived by her children Chris Miller of Concord, Gordon Miller of Pacifica and Kim Miller of San Mateo. Private services will be held.
