SACRAMENTO — The California Senate passed legislation Tuesday that aims to protect taxpayers from facing higher federal tax bills, the first concrete action in a Democratic state to push back against last year’s tax overhaul signed by President Donald Trump.

Opening another front in their ongoing war with the Trump administration and Republican-led Congress, California Democrats are looking to insulate the higher-income taxpayers who provide a massive share of the state’s revenue and ensure they don’t leave for lower-tax states.

Good luck! That dodge won't work, the US Supreme Court will not uphold it despite the fact that Governor Brown's stacked state Supreme Court might..
How about trying to control spending instead of constantly increasing taxes, special assessments and fees.
With a Democratic super majority in place in Sacramento, there isn't room or the opportunity to even engage in a dialogue. It's one way or the highway. Well, I took the highway and moved to a state that enjoys a balanced budget, beautiful scenery and nice people Only thing I miss is the ocean, but I can drive there.
Sorry to see the once great State I grew up in fall into the depths that it has.
