SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The California Department of Motor Vehicles will add Saturday hours after growing complaints about long wait times because of new license requirements.

The DMV said Friday it will open 17 more offices on Saturdays starting in August.

Perhaps it is time to reevaluate the mission of the DMV. It seems that the agency is responsible for ID cards, licenses for illegal aliens, motor voter law documentation, vehicle license renewals, vehicle registration and of course administering driver tests tests leading to issuing driver licenses. Should the DMV go back to its original mission, vehicle registration and driver licenses? The State is placing unreasonable and unverifiable burdens on this agency.
