A man was arrested on suspicion of killing a woman in San Carlos on Thursday morning after witnesses flagged down deputies to report the attack in progress, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputies were notified at about 11:50 a.m. about the attack in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Laurel Street near downtown San Carlos and found the woman dead. The Sheriff’s Office is not yet releasing how she was killed.
The suspect, who deputies said was known to the victim, returned to the scene shortly afterward and was arrested on suspicion of the killing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The names of the suspect and victim were not being released as of late Thursday afternoon.
